 SF Adult Protective Services

San Francisco APS offers support services to persons who have hoarding 
behaviors, such as referrals to MHASF groups contact person/telephone 
number; referrals to mental health services, if the client is open to 
these services to address managing the clutter.
 

If housing is at risk and there are health and safety hazards present, 
heavy cleaning services might be available (contingent upon funding), 
offered and encouraged around establishing a plan to resolve and 
maintain their housing, health and safety and will lead to stable 
housing absent further APS involvement.
 

Advocacy by connecting APS clients at risk of eviction with the 
appropriate legal services to help design ways forward so that older 
adults and persons with disabilities can avert homelessness.

Light Cleaning / Self Help for the Elderly

Free, light cleaning service for SF residents ages 60 and above who have health issues. Can be provided 4 times a year or more often if there is a need. Social Security Number and cleaning supplies need to be provided.

Paper Shredding / Level 6 Shredding

Remoov

Remoov will pick up and sell, donate or recycle all your unwanted items. Receive 50% of the resale value of items that are sold. Donation items are offered to local charities. Remaining items are taken to a decommission center for recycling. Cost estimates available on website.

Drop-Off Services / Recology of San Francisco

San Francisco’s transfer station is the local hub for resource recovery and disposal activities in the city. The transfer stations serve as public drop-off locations for materials to be hauled and processed at nearby compost or recycling facilities.
